Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, welcomed Syrias announcement of reaching a roadmap to resolve the crisis in Sweida Governorate.
In a statement issued Wednesday, Albudaiwi said the initiative would contribute to fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people for stability, development, and prosperity.
The announcement followed a trilateral meeting held yesterday in Damascus between Syrias Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, and the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria,the meeting resulted in the adoption of a roadmap to resolve the crisis in Sweida Governorate and enhance stability in southern Syria.
