TEHRAN (Tasnim) The foreign minister of Iraq praised Iran for opting for dialogue and diplomatic approaches to settle disputes over its nuclear program.
- Politics news -In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart on Monday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Mohammed Hussein appreciated Irans approach and its adherence to diplomacy and dialogue for the purpose of resolving disputes.
He also welcomed the indirect negotiations between Iran and the US and hailed Omans role in the recent talks.
Hussein expressed hope that interaction would produce positive results for the entire region with the constructive approach of all sides.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi outlined Irans views about regional and international developments.
He also briefed the top Iraqi diplomat on the recent nuclear talks in Muscat and the next round of the negotiations.
Delegations from Iran and the US held a round of indirect talks in Muscat on April 12, mediated by the foreign minister of Oman.
The two sides, led by Araqchi and the US presidents special envoy Steve Witkoff, have expressed satisfaction with the initial steps.
The next round of negotiations is scheduled for April 19.
